The latest saviour of British Fashion

With a MA from the Royal College of Art, Kristian Aadnevik has established his own label and yet another show for London Fashion Week.

The 29 year-old, originally from Bergen, Norway, has been described as “One of London’s exiting new, young talents” (Colin McDowell for The Sunday Times) and “…the latest saviour of British Fashion” (Gareth Edwards for On/Off). Kristian Aadnevik moved to London in 2000 after completing a tailoring degree in Bergen. He started a MA at the Royal College of Art (RCA), as one of few to be accepted, and his striking talent soon became visible. During his time at RCA, Kristian won several awards and a competition to work with a Japanese department store in Tokyo where his collection was exhibited. He started working as an assistant for the British designer Alexander McQueen, and worked as chief designer at the French label Charles Jourdan until he last year decided to concentrate on his own label. His avant garde design has attracted attention from celebrities, the press and customers around the world and is sold across Europe, US, Japan and Dubai for a price around £1000 to £5000. Earlier this year Kristian was chosen as Donatella Versace’s new protégé in a project where five established names have selected one talented designer each to create a collection for them.

The NBCC are looking forward to organising a fashion event in co-operation with Kristian Aadnevik in February 2008.

The Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce’s mission is to promote trade and investment between Norway and the UK, and to provide an environment for business people who wish to become a part of the Norwegian trade community. The NBCC provides professional networking opportunities and encourages dialogue between members.

The Chambers services have three main functions:

1. To create a forum for professional and social networking for NBCC members.

2. To act as a channel between members and the Norwegian and British authorities on particular topics of special interest to the members.

3. To participate in the debate regarding trade and policy issues, which are of concern to NBCC members both in Britain and Norway.

Most activities focus on members’ meetings and Chamber seminars.

The NBCC is the most important organisation for Anglo-Norwegian business people in the UK.
