"High North Region - Political Challenges and Commercial Opportunities"
The NBCC and the Norwegian Shipowners Association invited the Anglo-Norwegian Shipping elite for a seminar and dinner at the Victoria Park Plaza Hotel on 19. October. For the seminar we had a panel of speakers where Marianne Lie, General Director of the Norwegian Shipowner's Association had the opening remarks. Liv Monica Bargem Stubholt,
State Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out the
geopolitical challenges in the High North and represented the official policy of the Norwegian Government. Tor Espedal, Vice President of
Subsea 7 gave an introduction in why is the subsea technology relevant for the High North region and how this is represents a potential change for our indutry. Bernt Arne Breistein from Acergy presented how working with human resources is essential to succeeding in today's competition.
Herbjørn Hansson held the dinner speech where he presented his success story with Nordic American Tankers. From his early days he has worked with all the world's greatest shipowners until he met his biggest icon John Fredriksen who in his mind is maybe the biggest of them all.
